Titch the Pocket Sized Tiger
Titch is a very special cat. Abandoned at birth by his mother, Titch was adopted by a surrogate domestic cat who co-raised him with Mandy, from Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre. Titch weighed a mere 69 grams at birth. Small Spotted Cats, or Black footed Cats as they also known, are the smallest wild cat species in Africa. Adults weigh between 1 ½ - 2 kgs at maturity. Their fondness for hiding in hollowed out ant-hills, gives them their nickname “Ant-hill Tiger”, or “Miershoop-Tier” in Afrikaans.

Wild at Heart
Life is extraordinary in The Crags home of Len and Mandy Freeman. A blue crane watches TV in the bedroom, a dove is re-learning to walk in the passge, and a marabou stork is catching tennis balls and flirting with the ladies. This Doctor Doolittle insanity is the backdrop for the Tenikwa Wildlife Centre…….
